Pier2Pier was launched in March 2008 in collaboration with the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS), as well as state, federal and international partners, in a campaign to raise awareness among youth to threats to dolphins, manatees and the marine environment throughout the State.  This initiative is being launched in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), and is aimed at outreach and fundraising to support marine mammal conservation initiatives in Florida and elsewhere.
